Slide Gate Mechanism

Ladle slide gate mechanism, also called ladle slide gate system, slide gate assembly, sliding gate machenism. Ladle slide gate mechanism uses nodular cast iron as raw material. The fan-shaped slide gate plate is equipped with two slide plate blocks. The moving fan-shaped case handle can make one of the slide plate cast hole in working, and make another one moving to the other space of the equipment. At the same time, the moving out slide block can be changed.

Slide Gate Mechanism Advantages

1. Slip sheet is force uniform have good stability.
2. Sliding gate lateral clearance self-regulating sensitivity is high.
3. Increase the slip sheet’s freedom, bottom slide can vertical-tuning.
4. Have double-sided tight pin; the gab of hinge lateral can be adjusted.

Slide Gate Mechanism Application

The slide blocks thicknesses are heightened by this equipment which can be used as rapid nozzle-change mechanism. While add immerse nozzle at the bottom of slide block, the ladle stopper can be replaced and protect the casting.

More details about Slide Gate Mechanism

There is an increasing demand for higher service life of the slide gate system for higher production efficiency and more economical operation. The conventional slide gate system features a three-plate system, a well block, top nozzle, and a collector nozzle. The primary function of the ladle slide gate system is to control the flow of the liquid steel from the ladle to the tundish. It has been observed that the life of slide gate plates is the bottleneck which accounts for inferior performance of the overall slide gate refractory system. The performance of the slide gate plate is dependent on many factors such as refractory material, operating conditions, steel grade and slide gate mechanism. The gate valves are designed for small, medium and large capacity ladles. The new ladle slide gate being simple and robust offers higher stroke length, plate crack control, higher face pressure, and lower nitrogen pick-up.
