Magnesia Bricks

What is Magnesia Bricks?

Magnesia Bricks, a kind of basic refractory with more than 90% magnesium oxide content, are made of periclase as the main crystal phase. Magnesia Brick is mainly used in basic open-hearth furnace for steelmaking, electric furnace, rotary cement kiln, heating furnace, glass furnace and hyperthermia tunnel kiln with properties of higher refractoriness, good basic slag erosion resistance and high apparent initial softening temperature.

Magnesia brick is an alkaline refractory brick made of magnesia as the main component and periclase as the main crystal phase. Its magnesium oxide content is 91%-97%. Magnesium bricks have high refractoriness, and have good corrosion resistance to iron oxides, alkaline slag and high-calcium fluxes.

Magnesia brick Advantages:

High refractoriness
Good alkali resistance and slag resistance
High load softening starting temperature
High purity Less pollution to glass liquid
Long service life

What are the classifications of magnesia bricks?

Magnesia bricks can generally be divided into two categories: sintered magnesia bricks and chemically bonded magnesia bricks (also known as unfired magnesia bricks). Magnesia bricks with high purity and high firing temperature become directly bonded magnesia bricks due to direct contact with periclase grains. Bricks made by fused magnesia as raw materials are called fused combined magnesia bricks. Sintered magnesia bricks are sintered at a high temperature of 1550~1600℃ after crushing, batching, mixing and forming. The sintering temperature of high-purity products is above 1750℃. Unburned magnesia bricks are made by adding proper amount of chemical bonding agent to magnesia. It is made by mixing, molding and drying.

What are the main useing scope of magnesia bricks?

Mainly used for steelmaking alkaline open hearth furnace, electric furnace bottom and wall, permanent lining of oxygen converter, non-ferrous metal smelting furnace, high temperature tunnel kiln, cement rotary kiln lining, furnace bottom and wall of heating furnace, glass kiln heat storage Room lattice bricks.
